About the Ekopolis Foundation

I have been working at the foundation since its establishment in Slovakia in 1994, until 2003 as a manager of several key Ekopolis programs. Since 2003, I have been the director of the foundation. Since then, the foundation has undergone significant changes - it has established partnerships with the business community, has been successful in tenders for the management of grant programs financed from public sources, and has strengthened its position as one of the most important sources of support for NGO projects throughout Slovakia. The great thing about this work is that there is no stereotype in it. Every day brings completely new opportunities and challenges. I consider the most important task in leading the foundation to be that, while solving the details, we do not lose sight of the point and the sense of what the Ekopolis foundation is dedicated to - to be a useful source of support for people who, by dedicating their time, experience, and skills, contribute to making our country a better place to live.

I opened the foundation's first bank account at the end of May 1993. Since then, and for almost 30 years, I have been managing and administering the foundation's funds, including building its long-term financial reserve - the base. I am glad to be part of the team, that with my work I can contribute to useful things, meaningful activities that the foundation does and I hope it will do for a long time to come. I am pleased and fulfilled by the idea that common sense will prevail in this organization in everyday routine as well as in solving new tasks.

I started working at the Ekopolis Foundation in March 2023 on the program Assistance to Persons from Ukraine in Their Entry and Integration in the Territory of the Slovak Republic - MNO until December 2023. Since 2024, I have been a financial assistant.

I have been at Ekopolis since 1996. I mainly work on programs and projects that deal with sustainable tourism and mobility - Greenways, Welcome Cyclists, Living Paths, Iron Curtain Trail, sustainable mobility plans and more. What I like about this job is the combination of my hobbies (cycling, hiking) with work, as well as practical learning about solutions to problems that plague Slovakia, i.e. opportunities for local people's livelihoods and the fight against poverty, activation of Slovak residents, use of Slovakia's tourism potential or making life in cities and villages more pleasant.

I have been working at Ekopolis since 2021, managing the grant programs Green Oases, Good Neighbor, and collaborating on the grant program We Plant the Future. I am pleased to be able to work in a team that brings real positive changes to our country. Thanks to hundreds of supported projects, I have the opportunity to see how Slovakia is changing for the better. Being a part of this is a great honor for me.

I have been with Ekopolis since 1996. I am involved in the grant programs Sadíme číslokušť, Zelené oázy and Dobrý sused. I like to work with people who have not only the courage and desire, but also the feeling and ability to change the environment in which they live to a more beautiful, better, more humane one. I am inspired by their creativity and enthusiasm with which they implement their ideas. Working with the volunteers we support is not only a job for me, but also a reward.

I have been with the Ekopolis team since 2022 and focus on the topic of regenerative agriculture and agroforestry. I am the program manager of the For the Soil program and the Plzeňský prazdroj Foundation "For the Future".

I love working on projects - their liveliness and how they can change over time. At Ekopolis, I run the Planting the Future program, which has inspired me with its mission to connect communities. We have been planting trees all over Slovakia for five years now, and I believe I can help the program grow further.

Since January 2026, I have been working at the Ekopolis Foundation as a project manager for the EEA Civil Society Fund Slovakia program. I bring experience from the environment of international and academic projects to the team. In the program, I focus on coordinating processes around grant calls and developing a supportive environment for the civil sector. I greatly appreciate the opportunity to be part of a team that combines many years of experience and proven practice with the energy and dynamism of building a new program for civil society.

At the Ekopolis Foundation, I have been overseeing the EEA Civil Society Fund Slovakia program since autumn 2025. My professional path combines experience in international diplomacy, strategic roles in public administration, and analytical background in the corporate sector. This intersection allows me to seamlessly navigate between the world of political logic and the practical needs of civil society. I focus on bringing structure and clarity to processes so that good ideas gain the necessary support and real impact. Whether it is environmental protection, human rights advocacy, transparency or good governance, or building the capacities of non-profit organizations, my priority is to ensure that grants serve as a functional tool for the development of a healthy and resilient society.

I believe that good communication can inspire change, connect people, and bring greater understanding to issues that affect us all. I enjoy finding creative ways to connect people and ideas so that we can move together towards meaningful solutions. At Ekopolis, I strive to always make the most important thing clear behind our activities – that people are behind everything.
