The Tree of the Year survey is a nationwide competition through which we draw the public’s attention to old, rare and endangered trees and at the same time inspire them to pay more attention to their importance in their surroundings.

Every tree has its own story.
People from all over Slovakia have been participating in the poll for more than 20 years, and it is the public vote that decides the winner.
The tree then represents Slovakia in the European Tree of the Year competition, which is attended by the winners of national polls from all over Europe. The three winning trees will receive professional treatment that will help them extend their lives and maintain their vitality. The poll also includes an accompanying competition for schools, which introduces children to the importance of trees and encourages them to build a relationship with them from a young age.
