The Inclusive Border Cycling (IBC) project, in which the Ekopolis Foundation is a project partner, has been awarded the Flagship Project 2025–2026 distinction by the Danube Transnational Programme.
The project aims to engage senior citizens and disadvantaged young people in cycling tourism while using cycle tourism as a driver for the sustainable development of border regions across Central Europe.
In Slovakia, the project’s pilot area is the EuroVelo 6 – Danube Cycle Route between Komárno and Štúrovo.
The IBC project is coordinated by its Lead Partner, WestPannon (Hungary), and forms part of the Ekopolis Foundation’s long-term commitment to developing cycling tourism in Slovakia—one of the Foundation’s key areas of expertise and activity.
