A green oasis by a cyclo route
This year’s Green oasis projects are slowly becoming reality. One of the 2020 pioneers is the green oasis in Liptovský Mikuláš. 40 maple and other trees will form an avenue along a cyclo route by the river Váh. Project authors – OZ TATRY and LIPA – Liptovskí aktivisti, c.a. – are already looking forward to the planting in autumn.
SLOVNAFT and Ekopolis Foundation launched the 14th year of the Green oasis Grant program. SLOVNAFT donated 60 000 EUR to the program – the amount will be distributed among the best projects.
Topics of 2020
As usual, Green oasis 2020 reflects the hot topics of today. This year, we focused on creating new green areas and upgrading the existing ones in urban environment. The goals are to improve nesting opportunities for songbirds, plant plants for pollinators – bees, bumblebees and butterflies – to feed on, built watering places, connect existing green areas via biocorridors, improve life conditions for small vertebrates, such as squirrels, hedgehogs and lizards that are essential to natural balance.
