Invitation: Reclaim Our Civil Space event in Košice

The beginning of 2022 found us unprepared for a war conflict in the immediate vicinity of our country. A situation has arisen where we are faced with the arrival of war refugees. New residents arrived and continue to arrive in individual regions of Slovakia – towns and villages. We don’t know how long they will stay, some may never leave. In such cases, it is necessary to start not only their integration, but also completely natural inclusion. However, inclusion cannot be implemented without the involvement of local civil society communities. We will look for solutions together, how we can not only in this tense situation, but in general protect and develop democratic principles at the regional level, why we need to network with each other, why it is not possible for central institutions to ensure functioning local societies without their participation. At the same time, we will discuss why it is necessary for central institutions to realize the importance of support for the emergence of such functioning and cooperating local communities and communities. We will get to know each other, connect and look for ways of cooperation so that we do not become refugees from our own country one day, either voluntarily or involuntarily.

The Ekopolis Foundation together with its partners invites you to the event “Nečakajme na centrálne, vytvárajme lokálne!“ (Let’s not wait for the central, let’s create locally) on April 28, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in Tabačka in Košice. The event is part of the Reclaim our Civil Space! project.
